If you’re looking for a place where your contribution matters and where you can help build a better world of work; think of Gallagher.</div><div class="ewa-rteLine"> </div> Overview The Underwriter 1 position is responsible for working with their Team Leader, Underwriters 2-4, Data Consultants, Account Managers, Producers, and Clients in preparing requests for proposals, obtaining, and analyzing carrier quotes, inputting, and analyzing data from various automation systems, and maintaining a small book of business. It also works collaboratively with the underwriting and data teams to perform financial and data analysis of a client’s healthcare plans. How you'll make an impact <ul><li>Execute competitive bidding of all employee benefits coverage lines.</li><li>Prepare PowerPoints outlining financial and contractual analysis according to company policy.</li><li>Review vendor proposals for accuracy.</li><li>Assist Underwriters 2-4 and Data Consultants to evaluate, determine, and recommend alternative coverages, pricing, options, and plan design changes based on analysis of available plan elements and on client/prospect goals.</li><li>Produce deliverables timely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards.</li><li>Work jointly with Underwriters 2-4 to forecast and develop projections. </li><li>Maintain positive relationships with vendor representatives.</li><li>Remain abreast of the health insurance environment and constantly changing insurance legislation.</li><li>Respond to routine and non-routine correspondence.</li><li>Work independently and within the team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.</li><li>Represent Gallagher positively and professionally with both internal and external Clients.</li><li>Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.</li></ul> About You Required: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree and 0-3 years related experience.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – excel proficiency is a must.</li><li> Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.</li></ul>Preferred: <ul><li>Must obtain Accident & Health License within the first 6 months of employment, if not already licensed. </li><li>Strong employee benefits knowledge and/or math, economics, and finance background .</li><li>Strong PC skills with the aptitude to learn new systems.</li></ul> Behaviors: <ul><li>Great communicator up, down, and across the organization</li><li>Excels in time management while working with various deadlines.</li></ul> #LI-AV1 Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position.
