Job Description Job Description A rapidly growing CPA firm based in Carlsbad and with corporate clients in 25 states is looking for a Staff Auditor to join their team. This is a newly created position due to company growth. The company offers a good work/life balance and the opportunity to work with a talented and friendly team.<br><br>The Staff Auditor position is a great opportunity for someone who has interned at a CPA firm and who wishes to pursue a career in Public Accounting or alternatively someone who is currently a Staff Auditor and is looking to join a firm where there is the opportunity for rapid promotion to Audit Senior.<br><br>This is a Hybrid position.<br><br><strong>Major responsibilities of the Staff Auditor:</strong><br>- Manage assigned clients - correspond with audit clients, scheduling fieldwork, answering questions, etc.<br>- Ultimately responsible for making sure the following gets done on assigned audits: Bank confirmations, predecessor auditor letters, invoice vouching, reserve study entry. Reviews and sign off on pre-auditor/admin workpapers<br>- Review latest internal control questionnaire (before/during audit)<br>- Checking that client financial reports and records are accurate and reliable<br>- Attorney letter identification and footnote/additional procedures<br>- Contributes to team effort to meet deadlines<br>- Prepare planning workpapers including materiality<br>- Audit procedures all assets, liabilities, equity, revenues, expenses<br>- Verifies information by comparing and analyzing items to documentation<br>- Completes audit workpapers by documenting audit tests and findings<br>- Subsequent events testing/inquiry and documentation<br>- Equity reconciliations<br>- Record journal entries for all audit adjustments<br>- Documenting audit tests and findings/completes and signs off audit work papers<br>- Correspond with audit manager on issues identified during audits<br>- Correspond with audit manager on assigned clients: issues/new accounting procedures, planning strategies (busy season prep, testing etc.)<br>- Correspond with admin and engagement coordinator, tax department as needed<br>- Prepare audited financial statements<br>- Answer questions with clients directly via email, phone, in person<br><br><strong>Requirements of the Staff Auditor:</strong><br>- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent<br>- CPA or advancement towards status<br>- 0-2 years of progressive audit experience<br>- Strong communication skills<br>- Ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines<br><br>If this position is of interest please apply, alternatively if you would like to discuss your job search and other Accounting & Finance opportunities please email your resume to Paul Gould, Managing Partner: <br><br><em><strong>Next Level Resources, Inc.</strong></em><em> is a professional staffing firm dedicated to finding exceptional Accounting and Finance talent on a permanent and consultant/interim basis for clients throughout San Diego County.</em><br><br>IND123<br><br><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?BXkbpF7T903woGvm%2bpWRpAz" width="0" height="0">
