Uses computer technology and mathematical skills in the formation of the estimate. Essential Functions <ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Works directly with Contractor including the hard bid processes </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Reviews scope of work with General Contractor pre/post bid and hardware/HMF manufacturer combo packages determine most competitive position </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Performs labor cost interpretation based on scope of work </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Receives constructing plans, drawings and specifications and reviews for familiarization; checks for completeness; notes bid deadlines and any special requirements </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Organizes approach to project by deciding how to separate portions of major projects and to identify typical opening or hardware sets, etc.; notes project construction schedules, if applicable </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Interprets construction specifications; where necessary, discusses interpretations with team salesperson, customers or the architect</li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Reads building plans and identifies applicable portions with Cook & Boardman involvement </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Summarizes door opening and other applicable portions of plans by type </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Compares actual and estimated materials on completion of each project </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Enters applicable information in to Comsense system and prices job based on computer cost files </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Responsible for complete door and hardware takeoffs and costing all parts and scope of work </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">All other duties as assigned </li> </ul> Minimum Qualifications <ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">2 or 4 year degree in Engineering or related area preferred, or 5+ years of job related experience </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">At least 5 years of related experience in similar construction or building material industry </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Accurate mathematical skills </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Experience working in Comsense</li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen </li> </ul> Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <ul style="margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;"> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Proficient in Microsoft Office </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Knowledge of door, frame and hardware applications as they relate to UL, fire code, building code, ADA, life safety and other restrictions that relate to the general commercial construction industry </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills </li> <li style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 0px; line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Montserrat;">Detail oriented, deadline conscience, goal driven, and able to handle all types of scopes of projects </li> </ul> Equal Opportunity Employer CBX Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
