In this role, you will provide security guidance for application modernization, cloud architecture, and database migration projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and government security requirements. The ideal candidate has expertise in application security, AWS cloud security, identity and access management, and secure cloud architectures.</p> <h1><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h1> <ul> <li> Design and implement security best practices for application modernization and cloud migration initiatives. </li> <li> Secure ASP.NET Core applications using modern authentication and authorization frameworks. </li> <li> Configure and manage AWS security services, including IAM, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, and CloudTrail. </li> <li> Implement security logging, monitoring, and observability using CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and structured logging. </li> <li> Manage secrets, encryption, and least-privilege access controls across cloud environments. </li> <li> Conduct security reviews for application and database modernization projects. </li> <li> Ensure the protection of PHI/PII data through secure cloud architecture and security best practices. </li> <li> Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements. </li> </ul> <h1><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h1> <ul> <li> <strong>5+ years</strong> of experience in <strong>Application Security, Cloud Security, or Security Architecture</strong>. </li> <li> Strong experience with: <ul> <li> Secure application modernization and ASP.NET Core security </li> <li> Authentication and authorization (OIDC, OAuth2, JWT, ASP.NET Core Identity) </li> <li> AWS security services (IAM, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, CloudTrail) </li> <li> Security logging, monitoring, and observability (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, structured logging) </li> <li> Secrets management, encryption, and least-privilege access controls </li> <li> PHI/PII data protection and secure cloud architectures </li> <li> Security reviews for application and database modernization projects </li> </ul> </li> <li> Knowledge of compliance frameworks, including <strong>NIST 800-53</strong>, <strong>HIPAA</strong>, and state government security requirements. </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li> AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification. </li> <li> Experience supporting healthcare, Medicaid, HHS, or state government systems. </li> <li> Experience securing Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL environments and supporting cloud migration initiatives. </li> </ul>
