<p><span>Founded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the nation’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers across the United States.</span></p> <p>Akerman is seeking an experienced legal <strong>Document Specialist</strong> to join our team. This fully remote position supports attorneys and staff across all firm offices and is ideal for a technology-savvy professional who thrives in a fast-paced law firm environment.</p> <p>The standard work schedule is <strong>Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time</strong>, with participation in a <strong>mandatory rotating on-call weekend schedule</strong>.</p> <p>The successful candidate will have a minimum of <strong>five years of legal document production experience</strong>, exceptional technical and document formatting skills, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare, edit, format, and proofread complex legal documents.</li> <li>Create and update Tables of Contents (TOCs), Tables of Authorities (TOAs), pleadings, briefs, and other legal filings.</li> <li>Convert, format, and troubleshoot documents across multiple platforms and applications.</li> <li>Provide helpdesk support for document-related and software application issues.</li> <li>Assist attorneys and staff with document production requests and technical questions.</li> <li>Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality while meeting strict deadlines.</li> <li>Communicate professionally and effectively with attorneys, staff, and management.</li> <li>Stay current with technology and software enhancements to serve as a firm resource for document preparation best practices.</li> <li>Provide general administrative and office support as needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum <strong>5 years of experience</strong> in legal document production within a law firm or professional services environment.</li> <li>Advanced proficiency in:</li> <ul> <li>Microsoft Word 2016/365 (required)</li> <li>Microsoft Excel</li> <li>Microsoft PowerPoint</li> <li>Adobe Acrobat</li> <li>Best Case</li> <li>Best Authority</li> <li>iManage</li> <li>Additional legal and document management software as required</li> </ul> <li>Strong expertise in:</li> <ul> <li>Complex document formatting and styling</li> <li>TOC and TOA creation</li> <li>Document conversions and cleanup</li> <li>Transcription and document production</li> </ul> <li>Ability to troubleshoot document and software issues independently.</li> <li>Experience providing helpdesk or technical support preferred.</li> <li>Familiarity with an incident ticketing system is a plus.</li> <li>Highly organized with strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.</li> <li>Strong team-oriented mindset and exceptional customer service skills.</li> </ul> <p>We offer a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work with a collaborative and supportive team of professionals.</p> <p>Please submit your resume, cover letter, and salary requirements.  EOE</p> <p><span style="color: #ffffff;">#LI-PT1</span></p>
